Bruce Broughton’s Concerto for Horn and Orchestra is now available through most major streaming venues, including Amazon, Apple Music, MediaNet, Deezer, YouTube Music, iHeartRadio, iTunes, Pandora and Spotify. The horn concerto is the third of three pieces performed by horn virtuoso William VerMeulen with the London Symphony Orchestra conducted by Jonathan Bloxham. Through its three movements, the lively, bold and challenging work displays the horn as an expressive and versatile solo voice with a sweeping emotional and technical range.
“And on the Sixth Day,” an oboe concerto, brilliantly performed by the LSO’s principal oboist, Olivier Stankiewicz, and “String Theory,” a theme and variations for string orchestra based on techniques and combinations of escalating complexity, are available as a Naxos CD, which can also be found on most streaming venues.
