Los Angeles, California – August, 2005 – Bruce Broughton recently completed the score to Disney’s sequel to Bambi. In this film, the story takes place during a critical chapter in the life of young Bambi, whose mother is gone forever and his father is left to raise him alone. This charming film takes us through the developing relationship between father and son and features Broughton’s full orchestral score.
The composer combines traditional scoring (including thematic use of the original, 1940s score) with modern orchestral cues. The film is enriched by Broughton’s masterful and beautiful orchestrations of more than fifty minutes of original music.
The film was directed by Brian Pimental and features the voices of Patrick Stewart (as the Great Prince) and Alexander Gould (as Bambi). It is due to be released as a DVD domestically in February, 2006 and as a theatrical feature in most international markets.
